I live in Davenport and mine a fair amount. What gear do you have?

I will be making some trips here soon to the Similkameen.

Peace

Sean

hi Sean.  i don't really know any of the place names yet..learning though..  I have all hand stuff...pans sluices ..classifiers ect.  I sold my 4 inc proline and keene highbanker to move out here in hopes i can find a decent used one for sale.  I've been looking at a keene 4inch with triple stage sluice.  My eastern buddies dont like triple box cause of the weight.  I'm not sure about the best options yet...its like ford or chevy in a way.lol  I also like creating my own equipment.  adds to the fun.  I'm not very clear about the dredging seasons or permits in wash and idaho. still researching..Va doesnt have a season and you dont need a permit.  you just cant have anything larger ten 4 in.  One of my buddies does this full time..almost..he has claims all over...Shack.  maybe you have heard of him?
I'm always up for meeting new folks.  I make a great dredge tender atleast till i get me another one.  Its not uncommon for my buddes and i to put 3 or 4 dredges side by side and work an area thoroughly.
Take care, i may see you and some others out there.  I'll post some cool pics in thenext few days or so.

You have a few months yet before the main dredge season opens. Right now you are limited to highbanking and sluicing.

Washington is the more restricted of the two, and the seasons are often limited to 1-2 months out of the year. Idaho has limitations on some streams, but you need to get a dredge permit. I believe the talk is that Idaho will be more restricted in the near future, much like that of Washington.

Peace

Sean

Many of the main rivers have seperate restrictions. The attempt is basically to stop dredging completely. Little by little spots are going away. If you don't mind a little travel the Yellowbottom mining corridor near Sweethome Oregon is a public mining area set aside expressly for recreational operation. There may be more of these locations but I'm not aware of any.

Nice camping area but be aware there is a lot of traffic from Greenpeter Reservoir waterski/jetski folks.

If you do get over to Sweethome, keep your eyes peeled for Holly Blue Agate,
