Hi
Newbie here and thanks for letting me hoing your forum. I would appreciate any advice/guidance in prospecting for gold. What are the easiest tell tale signs to look for? Where is it most likely to be found? I am interested in both reef and alluvial gold

Also what detector does well in prospecting for gold (not just finding nuggets) but actually finding the gold seam or belt. I'm talking something affordable for an amateur like me

woah! back up there just a bit, first unless its changed recently you cant just buy a detector and a set of pans and go prospecting in south africa.
its not like austrailia, its strictly controlled and regulated, in fact you cant even pick up a nugget off the ground you find "eyes only" doing so is against the law.
i'm sure the lads in S.A. will chime in but thats how it was a year ago.

Thanks for your input. I'm actually going to be prospecting in Zimbabwe, right next door to South Africa. And we do have a prospecting licence for the district we are in
