Hello Ridge Runner ,  Just wondering if you have tested your TDI yet .  Do you have any American coins for air tests ?

Today I finally fixed my TDI !!!
I am running 11.0 volts from a power supply because I do not have a recharge pack .  I am using a ECLIPSE DD coil , UNBELIEVABLE !!!
The standard search coil for this machine was bad !!!   I am drawing approximately 30 m.a. ? on the supply .

It seems to be working very well   Shocked   .   I just want to compare air tests , if not I will try to put together a composite rod or pvc stick to go outside and test it [Saturday]  .

HH.........Regards............Eugene

I got the  2200 NiMh V3i Batteries with mine They are the H/Duty Pack and the Dry Cell Pack, I also Bought some 2650 Mah AAs to Put in the Dry Cell Pack which should give me an Extra Hour or So of Run Time They are Made By Energizer But see if you can get some 2900s  coz they should Give you about 6 or 7 hours, With these batteries I Get about 11.68 To 12.4 Volts when I take them out the Charger

One Thing to NOTE:- Duracell are Better than Energizer  with the MXT Pro your surposed to get about 40 Hours, I was Getting 57+ Hours and I still had over 10 Volts left and that is in a site that has Iron Every12 inches to 2 Foot At 7 To 8 hours a day, I did Tests on all the Top Batteries and Duracell give good constant power then it will fade off slowly, But Energizer will stay stable then just drop out completely, If you Use Energizer Lithium you well Get even Better results, And Not only that They have a 10 Year shelf life and are Garanteed not to leak Unlike Duracell or the Normal Energizers, Also they can put out between 1.58 To 1.67 Volts.

1.67x8=13.36 Volts, Baring in mind that the TDI SL can run up to 16.0 Volt before it Dies according to REG , and The Voltage is the only reason that the TDI SL Lose's an INCH to the TDI Pro,  You will hear people whinging  about the power difference but it is only an Inch on Coin Sized Targets, Bring that Voltage up around 12.0 to 13.36+ and it will be Equal to the TDI Pro,  SO A Good place for you to start is Get some of them Energizer Rechargables @ 2650Mah Batteries and it will get you half way there until you can find some 2900s or better, The other option is  Buy a 12 volt 6Amh Lead acid Battery and adapt the Dry Cell Battery box with a plug socket and Plug the battery into the battery box Like MineLab do with the SD/GP Series and you should get 13 hours out of it,

The Current Draw on the TDI SL is 0.460 Mah, so that should give you some thing to work with, Hell Just get a 12 Amp Battery and you will get 26.08 Hours out of it.

Is Yours the TDI SL ??

Anyway Mate I hope this helps, Good Luck.

AU

Eugene, NEWS FLASH   Shocked     I Just tested a Brand New Energizer Lithium AAA and its Voltage Is 1,8263 so times that by 8 = 14.6104 Volts which matches the TDI Pro's Voltage, Don't Forget it can Handle THE MAXIMUM Of 16.0 Then BOOM   Cry Cry Cry

So after  their peak Voltage drops off you should still have 12.5 To 13.00 Volts to Play with,

Good Luck.

COOOL, Well you can get 3100s and 3300 mah batteries for that one, I see over here you can buy the Dry cell Pack and the rechargeable for that one, It Takes 4 C size Batteries which give it s real good run time, You should get about 12 inches on a Dime, If you put the 12 inch Oz Mono coil on it it will go deeper than the 12 inch Duel Field But the Oz Coil is single field Mono which has a Slower Decay because the Aussie Dirt is Very Very Nasty stuff, Worse than anything else where,

hope this helps

Ok .its what I thought.
I use 3 set of 4 AA 2300mAh rechargeable batteries in serial/parallel configuration.
See theory in here

I use an UM3x6 and an UM3x8 battery holder glued together side by side and rewired in a 3 lots of 4 batteries in parallel. I hope I make sense.
The physical size of the two battery holders is the same as the C size holder, and fits perfect in the detector.
It certainly does on my Eagle spectrum.
This way you have 4.8V but 6900mAh!!!!!!!!!
So i end up using AA batteries on all of my detectors, and they last very long time.
I will make some photos of the battery holder and post them tomorrow so you can see.

Right So with My 2650s Batteries put in the Dry Pack then I should be getting around 5300 mah yes Huh?  which is 5300 devided by 0.460 = 11.52174 Hours Yes,

Because the Standard NiMh is 2200 mah,
