Curiousity about reading material

(1/1)

CrippledCoyote:
I just recently invested in these five books and was curious if anyone had any comments or anything to say about them. Have not received them yet, in about two days or so.

1) A Guide Book of United States Coins 2012

2) The Urban Treasure Hunter

3) Metal Detecting - Learning How The Easy Way

4) Ghost Town Treasures - Ruins, Relics & Riches

5) New Successful Coin Hunting

Would appreciate any feedback whether good, bad, or indifferent. Just trying to learn as much as possible about everything and will be laid up for a little bit here shortly for surgery on leg. Figured I needed some good reading material - lol
Anyways, look forward to hearing back from you all!  Thanks again for everything already!

You did pretty good there.

Your number 1 is a good reference book for identifying your coins and getting a general idea as to their value.
Number 2 is interesting reading and the more often I read it, the more I appreciate it.  It isn't a book everyone knows, likes, or appreciates, but it is definitely worth having in your library.
Number 3, I can't comment on because I have never read it.
Numbers 4 and 5.....Books by Garrett usually contain some good information and tips.  Just remember, though, that Mr Garrett has a vested interest in Garrett detectors, so unless you have one of the detectors he mentions, look for the tips and tricks that he shares that are applicable to all detectors (fortunately, that applies to 90% or so of what he writes in the books).

CrippledCoyote:
Thank you for your info! I researched for a couple days and tried to look at reviews and everything on the books before settling on them, glad that I chose good ones! Had heard a lot of that about Garrett and of course he will promote his product, but understand he also knows a lot about it, so i figured at least some of the info would be useful  :)
