Two experts told me this stirrup is 1000 years old.  It is made of iron and bronze. They said not to clean the bronze as I might mess up the iron.  If I try to clean up the iron I probably would hurt the remaining bronze.
A reinactor of medieval events offered a nice sum of cash for the stirrup shortly after I found it.   I have sold items in the past but have always regretted the sales as the money is soon gone and the relic cannot be replaced.  I kept my stirrup.
