Hi L N,
I have thousands of artifacts from 1812, I have never thought about seeling them before, but my intenetion is to offer them to either a museum or if they are not interested to a private collector.
I am not a "mercenary" type so I would consider selling for re imbursment of my costs over the years that will be when I cant swing my machine anymore. Detecting...HH..Johnnn.
Here are the pix of the ram rods again.

There's ALWAYS a lighter machine, John. It's that getting up after kneeling to dig that'll be the end of it for most of us.

Hi G D,
Youre right, bits n pieces of me are begining to ache, the machine is not a problem I doubt if there is a lighter machine than the Tessoro, its lifting my 200lb body up after locating a find thats the problem.....But thers always "ALEAVE" they are great for "our" kind of pain........HH....Johnnn

Actually, when I had a lay off after surgery, it took less time to get over that muscle ache that came from inactivity. I think my fitness level overall must be pretty good right now. I take the dog for a two hour walk every day without fail and detect a couple of days a week. When I get my self generated work finished in a couple of weeks, I'll have more time to go out. The dog likes to help.

Hi G D,
Talking about dogs helping, I did have a discusion with a friend some time ago about dogs and their ability to "sniff out" things I have noticed on some older copper coins that they do have a smell,"no I dont go around sniffing coins" but I wonder if a dog could be given the smell of a freshly dug coin and then tell him/her to seek, just a thought...HH.......Johnnn Teach

My dog can tell the difference between a banknote and a plain piece of paper. Even a color photocopy won't fool him. I dropped 20 pieces of photocopied $50.00 notes and one real one. He went straight for the real one in all 10 tries. But I can't get him to find a coin. He just likes to have his face in the hole as I dig, looking. He's a Golden Labrador. He does Lab testing for me.

Hi G D,
I get an amusing vision from that scenario, its like kids when they latch onto you when your digging they always want to get their hands into the hole "before" you have actually found your target, and that puts me out of sink with my digging I have thoughts of a bunch of fingers at the bottom of the hole, I still beleive a dog can sniff out a metal object with some training...HH.........Johnnn
