I noted thaat RubberDiver13 is from England so perhaps his large brass shell case is foreign and could be from WWll...but I still doubt it. Rimmed ammo was probably last used in WWl and only in some cases. Most countries now use rimless ammo.

Might be wrong, but I think the crimped cases are "blanks" used for military practice and in "starting" guns.
The small(est) uncrimped cases are .22 rifle, and the large cartridge looks like a .303 (there could be a date on the end if it's military issue 42,43 or something indicating the year)
The other cartridge looks like a 9 mm pistol.

Well the pistol cases appear to be from shot cartridges or blanks .... the one slightly larger at the top could be a blank.  the lead bullet could be from a .45-70, and the rifle case appears to be a .303 British, used both in WW I and WW II --- an excellent round in itself, its power approaching .30-06 class if you load it right.

Paul A and Western Differ are right about the starting blanks.   You can see some modern ones here--

The long one with the rim is a British .303. The crimped ones are a .22 and .32 cal. rim fire. Could be blanks from a starter pistol or from a construction tool used to shoot nails or threaded studs into concrete. I have also seen "bird shot" sometimes called "rat shot" , they are basically mini shot shells filled with little shot like a  mini shot gun shell, made with crimped ends like that. If the big crimped cases are .32 rim fire then judging by the size the lead slug is a .38 cal. wad cutter. A .45-70 would be bigger around than the long case shell, which looks like the British .303, which is a .30 cal. The .45-70 is .45 cal, which is 45/100 of an inch, almost 1/2 an inch. The small one at the top is a apc type shell which means it cane from a semi-auto pistol, I can tell this from the shape of the rim at the base of the shell. My guess is its a 9mm but it could be a .380 auto. Without seeing them side by side its hard for me to tell cause its been a while since i shot a .380 auto. I'm no expert but thats my guess. Thanks for giving me a chance to have a look see! Nice finds!

                                                                                                                                      SD
Ok a friend on mine got a Beretta 9mm knock off made by Taurus and we shot it out back a few days back so i went out and got some empty casings. I have changes my mind about the auto shell casing at teh top it has to be a .32 auto cause the 9mm are shorter and bigger around than the one in the pic. This also makes me think the larger crimped ones are a .38 special and not a .32 rim fire, which would be as the auto at the top. Also if you look at the lead slug that looks like a wad cutter it looks as big around as the larger crimped cases. Hope this helps and I was not to confusing.. Cheesy Shocked
