Hi,

in my opinion this is the highlight of my WW 2 finds  Smiley I found this Waffen SS cap eagle and skull in the near of a place, 60 years ago there was a big Waffen SS training camp. Both pieces lay very close together, first i was wondering why i had two good signals at one place but as i found the eagle, only 3 cm deep, i knew that the skull could not be very far.

I think someone of the guys has lost his cap during the training... good for me  Smiley

Nice stuff!
Almost looks totally new.

Have you been searching the grounds of that ss camp much?
Is there any possibility to find more nice stuff like that?

@Niobium

Oh yes  Grin we searched there very often. The problem is that the training camp was on top of a hill. When the US Army entered the site they blow up all the buildings and right after the war they took a bulldozer and the mix of concrete, metal, garbage, etc etc was simply thrown down the hill. So its very hard do detect there because of lots of iron and metal garbage. But.... between this bullshit we already found some very nice things like SS dogtags, belt buckels and ( this was a very amazing find ) parts of an Enigma ! Unfortunately it was not me finding it  Cry

The last years i haven?t been there because meanwhile im more interested in ancient finds than in WW 2 stuff.

But if you ever will come to South Germany..... you are invited for a hunt there  Wink

@Treasurehunter01253
I will show some more WW 2 finds during the next day and you will see that the quality not always is like this  Smiley

It depends where you find it. In forests with a good heavy soil you can find 1000 years old iron finds in a nearly perfect condition. 2 km away in a forest with sandy soil an 10 year old iron find is totally rusty and will crumble in your hands  Cry

Also finds from fields are normally in a more bad quality because of the fertilization.
