Go Up Go Down

Here is a picture of a WWII German Bazoka found by a friend and picked up by the authorties for proper disposal.

They don't show up often but unfortunately these spoils of war still impose a hazard to detectorists in some areas.

Regards,

Christian

That's a pretty sweet find.  I wonder if it was still active.

I did not pop this guy and the other granades out of the ground, they were just laying on top. They were found in the area of Nuermberg that saw alot of action between U.S. troops and the 17th SS.

@The_Ratt
Yes this munition was still live.It is a HE projectile for the German Bazooka (Panzer Schreck)

The 2 bombs are Brit 30lb incendiarys. The priming charge is phosphorus and the filling is artificial resin and benzene, nice way to start a bonfire.
The one i dug out like a dumb ass until i saw what it is and the other i left in.

All munitions found are only photographed und reported to the EOD .In no way, shape or form were these weapons taken home.

I am only showing these pics for people with interest in ww2 objects.

These things CAN AND WILL KILL YOU. Dont fart with em.

Jeff..

Hi Jeff,   Waveing Waveing

These things look absolutely horrific.
Man I felt a shiver runnin' down my back just lookin' at the pics.
I don't want to ever find anything like that, if I did come across anything
remotely like that believe me I wouldn't touch it.

I'd report it to the authorities immediately.

I've always been very careful not to put myself in any danger,
n that's why I'm still here today.
That's your bad luck guys. ha ha ha

I once found a 20 lbs US Civil War Parrott shell that was live, I disarmed it before bringing it home to Canada..did some EOD while I was in the Canadian Army and I hhad cutaway photos of this type of shell.
A Friend in VA was killed early last year whiile disarming a CW Shell...he had done hundreds over the years..guess he let the drill get too hot this time.
