Horse shoes
johnnn:
Hi All,
While I am still "out of service" I have put together a pic/story of the horse shoes that I have been finding on our 1812 and WW1 sites most are 1812 shoes.I have given some away to neighbors and friends, they have novelty value as you just cant get 1812 shoes anywhere.
The pics are showing 69 shoes not all are from the military some are for winter use as they have extra grips on them.
The horse shoe story doesn't end there, when i visit the UK on the farm I detect on there was a "pound/paddock" in one are and I find at least 6/8 shoes when I'm there only I leave them with the farmer.............HH............Johnnn

Hello John,
very nice and comprehensive collection! Thans for sharing it with us! Do you plan on getting all that rust removed? If yes the elctrolysis might be the way to go.
Best wishes,
Christian

Hi Ace,
They are "OX" shoes they are always in two pieces, I would like to get the rust off as they always leave a mess whenever I move them I already have an electrolysis machine but do not know which chemicals to use.....HH......Johnnn
