No matter what your beliefs are or whatever religion you profess all of us are affected by the same problems. The government in  whatever country  you reside in failss to care for peoples problems. Since 1914 it seems as tho the world is progressively getting worse. True amazing strides have been  made in transportation, healthcare, technology and so on. But are we really making stridess forward? Look  at all the broken homes where single parent families struggle to make ends meet. Because they are not able to be with their kids many of the kids take to the streets and get caught up in illicit sex, drugs, stealing, murder and the list goes on. For those that cannot afford it medical treatment is far out of reach. Mathew 24, Luke 21 tells us about events happening in these days. Wars, famine, and so on. Natural disasters such as earthquakes are increasing in frequeny and intensity. Just a couple years ago one out in the ocean  caused the deaths of a quarter million people. The one  in Haiti killed thousands. Notice what 2 Timothy 3:1-5 and vs 13 hass to say. As i stated earlier id does not matter if you are Baptist, Catholic, Protestant, Jewish, Odinist, Buddist, Hindu, Muslim, or whatever we are all affected by these problems. Im very interested in comments so feel free to comment. My purpose is not to insult or rag any particular religion so please respect that in this thread. We can all get along we all put our pants on one leg at a time

Ever read John Reed's 10 days that shook the world? It is interesting that you chose 1914 as your starting point. Would you please elaborate?

The Archduke of a European country was assassinated in Aug of 1914? Ww1 started about October of that year. World conditions and attitudes changed like there was an unseen force inciting men to be more and more wicked. Interestingly Revelation ch 12 describes a war in heaven (please read for yourself) where the devil and his angels are cast out of heaven and confined to the vicinity of the earth. Very difficult to deny many historians noting that the world changed in October of 1914. From personal experience i have known some older folks that were around at that time and they also noted that things seemed to have changed in 1914. Since that particular time point look at the atrocities being committed today. In the 90s a bomb went off in Oklahoma killing many people. Now you here about a jealous astronaut putting on a diaper so she can drive for hours to face her rival. Even worse babies are abandoned in restrooms or kids left in carseats and car driven off into water. How about babies being sliced directly out of their mothers wombs such as happened in Ohio a few years back. Can man think up wicked atrocities on his own like that or is their an unseen force driving mans thought process. No one can forget when 4 planes killed over 3000 people in one day. 2 Timothy 3:13 please read. Things are spirling downhill. Where is it going to end? Im interested in your input

Beamwalker,

The natural disasters of recent memory have happened in the past and will happen in the future, we have absolutely no control over the weather that shape and reshape the planet.

You brought up the assignation of the Archduke of Austria that precipitated WW1, the year prior to that saw the election of Woodrow Wilson that saw the introduction of the Progressive Movement that later turned into the Liberal Movement and now is back to the Progressive Movement.  What ever you call it, it all boils down to Socialism which boils down to slavery to the state

That is ladies and germs if we don’t take the bible in one hand and a ballot in the other and throw these PC socialists out on their ear and that means local, state and especially federal.  Any candidates rally that you go to take a bible and if you come cheek to jowl with them ask them to put their hand on the bible and swear they will follow the Constitution to the letter, if they refuse make it known that they, on God’s holy word, have refused to uphold the Constitution and do not deserve election.

The bible has many verses and a whole chapter on the projected end, which I don’t feel is eminent, but at this point in time it has more power in weeding out the despots and keeping them from getting power.

Gramps

Fabians...Progressives...soviet revolution....fairness. Misery is what we reap when we surrender our individual sovereignty. That was my driving point about John Reed, American communist journalist, who has the honor of being buried in Red Square. The word that struck me in all the carnage that he witnessed was "democracy". He saw the revolution as a great stride forward for man. We have the blessings of time to see how miserable the socialists utopia failed. and yet....

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience."

  --  C.S. Lewis
Gramps, most  politicians would not think twice about lying with their hand on a whole stack of bibles. We even had one channel Jesus just this week saying it was his idea to tax the rich.
