I will try to find myself a decent quality 20X glass.

Hit ebay and look for jewelers loupe. I bought a set 1 each 10x 20x 30x for 6 bucks free shipping from China. There is no different from the 30 dollar one I have carried for years

Thanks to Seldom and Karl for the advice.  Since I am really inexperienced at buying this stuff, I would love to hear your and maybe GD's opinions of how useful the product in this link would be to the casual hobbyist such as myself.....

I am a little skeptical about the dual 10X glass scheme working as well as a single 20X.

Also, will I find that the headgear was a waste of money?  This site alone has a few eyepieces that are well within my price range so if the headgear is not advisable then I will just find the best 20X eyepiece and roll with it.

As of this minute, I am planning to buy an eye loupe and a regular loupe since they have some seriouisly cheap eye loupes on that site.

   Grin This is fun. Grin

Also, GD, I was way to busy at work today so I will have to get that rock appraised tomorrow after I finish what I started at work today.

Head Magnifier is great if you are making jewelery are cleaning small objects but you don't need it I have one I seldom use. if you are only going to get one loupe go with a 10x its the most common used by jewelers

Oh, the agony of waiting! Worse than waiting for Santa when you're 6 years old.

Now, THAT was a long time ago for some of us.

He he,

It isn't soooo bad GD1950 and RR, I know what  is now.  The old pics really don't do it justice so I took  a few of it with my new fancy shmansy camera and am still trying to get the pics onto my PC.  I will have to add them in the mroning I guess,. since I need all of the beauty sleep I ccan get my hands on these days.

I was told by the local jeweler today that the stone is a Cubic Z.   Tah Dah!!!

Oh Well, since I haven't been getting any silver coins lately,  I have started diggin' up the possible gold ID's  today at my home town park and got myself a pocket full of the new style pull tabs to show for it..  I might as well be looking for gold jewelry along with the silver targets since gold rings  could have been lost recently and still be a great find.

I can't believe the amount of new style pull tabs on the ground!  I can fully comprehend the old style since it was separated from the can and found their way all over the place.  The new ones should not even leave the darned can but spoiled arse kids just don't care about where the tabs go after they break them off.

I blame it on a general lack of family cohesion in today's society but that is a tangent that I can't get into tonight.  It is the Ditty's bed time so good night to all and keep looking at the boards because this Cajun is going to find that big hit sooner or later.

It's just a matter of time baby!

The truth was out there.

I'm not surprised for all the reasons previously stated. There's not a thing wrong with a CZ stone in a beautiful silver setting. Or gold, for that matter. I'm just happy that the mystery is solved.

Congratulations on a successful research into your find.

I have been having the worst luck trying to get the poics downloaded so here goes try number four.  I threw in a little silver for effect....

EDIT:  I just noticed a yellow tint to the pics.  I will take a couple more and replace some of those.
