One things for sure, if you ask for a description only the owner or someone very close to them will be able to come up with one that is even close.

I have serious doubts Beachcomber will discover true ownership of the ring - more than likely have it confiscated by authorities.  Do take care Beachcomber, protect yourself. Perhaps it would be a good idea to pull the topic.

I most certainly feel there is more to the ring than meets the eye. Its rustic appearance is reminiscent of days gone by.
Kind regards
Diggerbarns

Hi all, and thanks foor looking and commenting. Great

Tracing the owner is somehing I always try to do when i can.

Problem with this one is it was found in the middle of nowhere. You know it all, winter period, scarce finds on usual productive spots, no storms, then you take a chance "out of the touristic roads";

That's what I did. Found much trash, little coinage and that ring.

We have here a special website to locate wedding bands owners, but this isn't one.

When the beach tenders will be ready for Easter crowds, I'll have to chit chat with some of them.

One never knows... Wise

HH.

Hi Beachcomber

It would be nice to know the story behind that ring thought.

Regards Xavier

That is a special ring! It could be a memory piece; Each small ring reprsented a family member. A child or sister. Or it could just be the jeweler's way of decoration. Either way it is an enigma and the craftsmans marks show that it was a custom piece likely one of a kind. I wonder if it is not hair jewelry rather than a finger ring. put it on the What is It? board and I'll bet you get a 100 responses.  Nice find

That ring's simplistically regal design screams nobility to me.  Something that I would expect to see on the finger of a young royal hand from the dark ages on back to way way back.

I could be totally wrong of coarse.  I could only see a little of the writing and am not literate in any other languages than English.

That's my totally layman's take on that beautiful piece of jewelery.     The fact that there are no stones really has me thinking that the ring maker may have not had the global network of today available to him.  He/She might have had to work with the gold and silver that he/she could get.  Any piece of today's jewelery that boasts of that much gold AND silver would certainly have more defined markings along with some type of stones or group of different stones of any of a thousand different exotic types.

Then again, maybe it is a ring that was made out of certain family heirlooms in which the original rings could have been chosen for their simple classy style so that the finished product was not too flashy or loud.

Still though, that ring is a true original that emanates a class and taste of simpler times IMO..  It would have been worn well by royalty before the 19th century and might have been one heck of a status symbol in truly ancient times.

I just can't seem to say enough about how much I like that piece.

Beachcomber ; awesome find !! My wife has a ring similar to that its made up of her mothers engagement ring and wedding band and her fathers wedding band and her grandparents wedding bands and engagment ring, truly unique and one of a kind also.

Like bomber and Xavier suggested I believe the ring U found is like my wifes ring , made from many rings from past family members.
I wish u nothing but great luck in finding the original owner.
