Chunky little black, brown and green things. Close enough? What did I win?

It's all about that magical moment of discovery when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Huh, those are pretty worn down! I would want to think late Roman. Possibly two Folis (the smaller ones) and one Sesterz (larger one). If they were in better condition I could pin them down precisely. However where there are some coins there will probably be more! Just keep on detecting!

Best wishes,

Christian

Maybe if you had bigger pics I could id better. Though to really ID you probably need to clean them a bit but if you do I know Roman coins so may be able to help.

Its a proper bummer when coins wear so much i have 2 or 3 coins myself that are compleatly unidentifiable! But looks like you are in the right area! I think is it the minerals in the soil that ruin the coins so much. Cheers. Lee   Detecting
