luckyp;

Its interesting. BUT! I went to the site and went around and around and back again, nowhere, did I find any document to download and read.... if it has software encoded into the picture, this is too close to viral!

I could not find anything that did not entail giving up my privacy.... that is WRONG!

I have a couple of comments, though; Volques is a re-hash on the Anglo-Saxon-German-West Gothic word (FOLK). It is used identically to north American Autochthones, who all call themselves a variant of FOLK or THE PEOPLE: Innu; Ayinew; Innuit, and aboriginals of Japan are Ainu.... its all a variant of Aryan and means - the people - and is used world wide. Wise

Those are nice pieces of silver, but not found in this part of the world, instead, we should watch for unique copper pieces (not coinage) as copper, among other items, such as sacred herbs (not likely to survive in any but the driest climate) were used as exchange. At that, sacred herbs were only traded or given, and copper is the sacred red of life. Detecting

I would like to have read about the Volques (sound like celts, to me) but.... sour grapes anyway! Undecided

luckyp;

I had a look, at the address, you posted.... interesting enough to make a PDF for future reference, thanks.... I have one small bone to pick: THEY did not call themselves VOLQUE TECTOSAGE... a title which your friend has given them, obviously, thus explaining why I have never heard the term, before now.  I doubt they called themselves anything, remotely modern.  Cheesy

Perhaps a form of ERSE, DANAE, GUIDANA?? One of the N.American Autochthones groups use varying  forms of Dene (dennay,) as dinah, dannay, dennay... all meaning THE PEOPLE: Dannay Tiah; Deneh Zha; Denneh Thloa, and many more. They arrived only 6000 to 7000 years ago, from eastern Asia... maybe some tenuous connection. After all, there have been numerous finds of Celtic burials and artifacts, in recent years, in Asia.... so, My question: when did the Celts start cremating their dead?

I am curious.

Hi,
It is not was my friend call them but if you refer to wikepedia the encyclopedia of the internet this was the name of this particular tribe living in the south west of France.there is very much to say about the celtes particularly in Brittany,England with stonhenge which is still at these day a mystery.Nobody to these days have solve the mysteries of our ancestors.See the plains of Nacsa, candelabra, birds etc pointing in the direction of the pyramids,Statues of Easter island etc...The celtes seems to be earlier civilisations that the mayans and the incas but who knows.When you put civilisations in a universe contest 10.000 years is a drop in a bucket.Just my humble thinking.
As for your question about cremeting I do not know but if you refer about the Viking history they were cremated at sea.

Not vikings, they are johnny-come-lately types, compared to Celts; the celts commonly cremated their dead, but in asia, the Celtic burials are un-cremated... so, I was wondering if anyone knows when this practice started.

Another thing, of interest to the treasure hunting group, is the Erse Celtic tales of Leprechauns, with buried hordes of gold: I wonder if the tales have a source in fact, or some long past event, or maybe some kind of allegory? Shocked
