I will give you guys one more shot at this collection . Do as I will tell you and you will get the best maps you ever have seen .  First  you Google     helmink.com     Than ... scroll allthe way down ...   then you get these brown bars .... you may click on any of them but  ........I would try the VOC  maps first .......once you got that scroll down again and click on any area map you want to see .......but there is a little more you have to try  . If you get the map you may find on many of them a   ...blue magnifying glass . If you click on that magnifying glass you will get  ...on top ....the same map but below that these maps are divided in 6 to 8 sections  . These sections are very clear and a lot of shipwrecks are to be found on them ( you have to learn Dutch however to understand what the map is pointing to )  . Have fun with these maps . They are unique and not easy to come by . So download this collection . Especially the maps by    van Keulen  are very clear .    Let me know please  what you think about it .  Cornelius

Nice link. Thanks for the heads up on this, Cornelius. Maps like those are nearly impossible to come by in the flesh, so to speak. Digital versions are wonderful as long as the resolution is there.

Gold Digger I am glad you liked the maps . Be assured that these maps are very hard to come by . This may be the only way of downloading them . As you probably know the Dutch mapmakers were very advanced in their job .  The Atlas of Blau was one of the atlasses that were more or less a secret in their times . With the program I gave you guys you will have the most advanced collection of old maps that are available .  Cornelius .   PS  I will help you translate if you have any questions about the maps .

I can manage reading a good number of languages but don't ask me to speak them. Here's another terrific source of downloadable maps.

Hello Cornelius!

Thanks for sharing this excellent resource with us! I will safe all of them. From my understanding they are in the public domain due to their age so we could put them up here, too in our download area.

Best wishes,

Christian

Yes Christian . These maps are in the public domain . You can do with this information whatever you do . However ... I think this is so important to a lot of us treasure divers and researchers that we should download this info before it is no longer on the website .  Cornelius

Hello Cornelius,
I am findoldstuff and have followed a thread you had written back in 2006, which has lead me to join. Just wanted to say hello and add that I had a website of old maps bookmarked and the webmaster at some point removed them and put something else up on the site. So I have learned to print them while they are available.

If somebody removed anything it must have been  Marc Austin  , the web-master of Treasure Net  . There is something wrong with that guy if you ask me . More power to him though !   Cornelius

Chronelius,
I am sorry, the website was a U.S. Corp of Engineers site.
