Hello all

Thanks for the interesting link Sue.

PubliusEnigma it is a story of all things tragedy, courage and eventually greed. All the makings of an interesting movie if movie makers had the foresight.

A real tale of the strengths and weakness of humanity.

Imagine after all the hardships just to survive some of the survivors still elected to return to their island hell that tormented them for 18 months. On returning to civilization perhaps destitute poverty drove them back to try to recover the gold. Times were tough back then.

Hardluck  Huh?

Thanks Sue and Hardluck Smiley another great story. So true I am sure that it would be hard to wish to return to such a place having lived in such conditions.

The ones in an impossible location always bring out the engineer in me as I try to figure out a way to reach them. This one sounds like a great ROV task Smiley

It is a great story of survival. It came down to one match weather they live or die at one point!
I think your onto it with the ROV Jones, especially when you consider the water temp down there.
A big problem down there is also the weather, its only good about 10 day of the year!
many lives have been lost trying to recover this lost treasure.

Thanks, PubliusEnigma, for bringing the subject up and for the link.   And thanks, Hardluck and Sue, for the additional links.  It's a very interesting story, but I'll leave hunting for it for others (can't abide cold water especially when there so much treasure to look for elsewhere).
