I'm sure that Spain is going to do the right thing and return the treasure to the South American Indians of whose population they decimated from slave labor and diseases.

Yes we were talking about that earlier in the year. How the Spainish enslaved all those people to steal their gold and then killed them after they were done with them. Spain is the thief here and they are still trying to steal it with the help of some misguided judge. Hard to believe it was an american judge that did that. What was he thinking?! Huh?

Judge Pizzo does not have much knowledge of maritime law. Thats why Odyssey appealed the decision and it will go to the appelate court where they have smarter judges.

I read a lot of old writings from the Spanish and many of the gold/silver mines were closed not because they played out but because all of their slaves/Indians died and they couldn't get any more and just moved on to a better populated area to do it all over again. A lot of people don't know that they also used dogs to kill people.

I bet the ruling stays. Spain claimed many wrecks lately even though they didn't lift a finger to find them.

[idea]Sounds like it is time for a killer E-Bay sale, don't you think? Think we could spread 17 tons of treasure all over the world far enough so they never get a dime. I got a better idea! If it is such a national teasure for the history of the country  "Buy it back". They probably never even considered that. What? not steal the treasure? I guess I have beat this enough. But to me it has always been and always will be Finders Keepers when it comes to treasure.

Finders, Keepers.  I'm with you there.

They should do a Tom Gurr special and throw everything back into the water and tell Spain to come and get it..
