they work good but you should carry a tank just for the airlift as it will suck up your breathing air real quick.  Thats why I made mine with a surface air compressor and it doesn't have to be breathing air for the airlift...Smiley

I have been using mine for 3 years now and it shows very little wear. As for the tank, my 120 cu. ft. tank will last 2 hours at 20 feet while using the dredge.

Thats intermittent use. Instead of one big hole comming in the side of the tube, I have a band going around with about 50 small holes. It makes smaller bubbles (and more of them) that expand more efficiently. It acts like a bigger dredge.

No! I also have a Keene suction dredge. It can move a mountain but its a lot more equipment. Here is a pic of my Keene dredge built into a 14' boat:
