Outback . It has always been a  protected area . That was however during the  ,, Apartheid ,, years when Robben Island was a famous prison  where Mandela was imprisoned . Now the area is no longer restricted  . This is nice because we are sure now that the wreck is still there , untouched . How long it will be untouched is a good question though .  Cornelius

Outback , nice to hear that you have some good contacts in South Africa . When I was in Namibia , quite a few years back , checking up on a lost VOC ship that was supposed to be wrecked close to Luderitz  I found out that I could even talk to the Bushmen . They spoke Afrikaans . I am familiar with that language so you can immagine how pleased I was to ask about this wreck with the local people . We found some parts of the / a wreck ,  and also a load of Dutch silver coins  . We had a good time while overthere .   Cornelius
