That will be a cool project to keep an eye on. I imagine the dive site will be visible from shore.

This will be very exciting. I was able to see the H. L. Hunley after it was raised and put in a cleaning tank. The remains were removed and buried with military honors and all sailor received the Confederate Medal of Honor postmortem. The medals and pictures are on display at the museum in Charleston, SC.

Can't  wait  to see the photos  etc. I've  seen  the articles  about  the  hunley. And hope to  see  it sometime  and this one also .
would  be  cool  if  there was  a  Webcam  to see the  artifacts  they bring  up daily .

Karl, It was a great trip to Charleston, SC. There is a lot of history in Charleston. At the museum, they have a open reproduction of the Hunley for people to go inside. Very tight quarters. The last time I was there the Hunley was in the conservation tank.

Seen a photo taken January 2015 and the tank was drained and artifacts were being removed. Should not be too long before she is on full display.

I guess I will have to go back and see her again once she is on full display. Of course I wll have to go to Fort Sumter and Patriots Point.

Maybe see the CSS Georgia in 5=6 years when they bring her up.
