Arrrgh mateys, shipwreck could be pirate vessel (The Daily Comet)

NEW ORLEANS - In the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico, the shipwreck artifacts were laid out atop the sandy bottom looking barely different than when the little two-masted schooner carrying them sank beneath the waves 200 years ago.

I can't believe that the Texas A&M team ate up $5 million to bring up 500 pieces of junk, 90% of which is worthless. That comes to about $10,000 dollars for each item. I wish I could get $10,000 for one of my old shipwreck bottles...

Nice to see that my alma mater is still has money to spend  Grin   The Institute of Nautical Archaeology and the Nautical Archaeology Program were just getting off to a good start when I was at A&M.....In fact cleaning their offices and labs (located in World War II era two story military barracks) was part of my duties as a student worker on one of the universities custodial crews.
