Some may have read my last post wrongly.

I belive that Bob Marx recovered artifacts in February 1990 from the Flor Do Mar and that the main bulk of the wreck still lays burried under the mud.

This was all well published in the early 90's compleate with details and photos of the artifacts recovered.

I read you correctly and agree mostly. He describes the wreck site as having been partly explored and then covered during the December 2004 tsunami. Quite believable based on the damage done and the amount of sand moved during that disaster.

Golddigger I don't know who you are , and franckly I don't care  . The point I am making is that :  If Marx disvovered the wrecksite of the Flor do Mar and he is offering coins from this wreck , he has to pay 50 % to the Indonesian Gouvernment  . Now .... if he is offering coins from the Flor do Mar he must have discovered the wrecksite  . If he discovered the wrecksite of the Flor do Mar he has to pay the Indonesian Gouvernment the 50 %  he contracted for . If he did not disclose his discovery and kept all the proceeds for himself he will be in deep water . So I would advice Marx to let us know wether he discovered the wreck site of the Flor do Mar or that he just told us a story to sell some coins . It is all up to him . He has to thank you though for opening up this can of worms . He will not be your friend from now on I guess .  You can proceed with this subject as far as you want my friend , but be assured  that you will be on the loosing side .   Cornelius

What exactly is your position as representative of the Indonesian government, Cornelius? How do you represent them and why?

The main part of the wreck was found burried at the time.

They gave up on the project in the 90's after repeated atempts to remove the overburden with a clamshell dredging bucket. The tsunami has just made matters worse.

The funny thing about sunken ships is that given enough time they show up, get covered, show up, get covered . . .

I was wreck diving in the US Virgin Islands once back in the 1970s. Went back 10 years later to the smoothest sand I have ever seen. The local boat owner warned us it was covered but I hoped it was at least partly visible. No such luck. But let me tell you, it was like diving in bath water. Warm, clear and teeming abundant with life. I had a great time and found a nice white gold and diamond ring close to the shoreline with my Sea Hunter. I also found a small cache of US silver quarters. How or why they were there is a mystery to me.

You are claiming official government status. Prove it or end this discussion once and for all.

I said I met Robert Marx many years ago. That is all you need to know. Do not try to use that as a bargaining chip.

Now, what is your official status with the Indonesian government?

VOC You are so right about the SUNAMI , but take in consideration that the SUNAMi was pointing to the WEST . No  big things happened tho the North East coast of Sumatra  .  And that is where Marx put the wreck of the Flor do Mar . But ..... let me ask  you one question .....if you discovered such a rich wreck  .... would you let the whole world about it ?  I don't think so !  I think this is only done for the investors to come over and loose their money .   Cornelius  ( by the way I invite Marx to discuss this matter with me  )
