Home-made flux-gate magnetometer

Our plans are to build a museum, but that is a long way off. Our drilling, hopefully, will show enough of the contents to identify the boat and whether excavation is possible. The preliminary results of my magnetometer search were very promising. There appears to be several areas of high iron content. This could be cargo and/or machinery. The history books tell us the sinking resulted in "total loss."

The magnetometer is an "earth magnetometer." The cost is $780.00.

The water table is only 17 feet below ground and GPR is largely ineffective in that environment.

We have done some preliminary filming. It's fun seeing things fit together.
