atuz, first welcome to THunting.com.........second, use the advanced search feature at the top of this page to search the entire board for "side scan sonar".   There have already been a few postings on the forum regarding building side scans, so you may find your answers there.

Hello !
Not sure what can be found here on this forum, but I once found useful informations (including schematics) about Stures towfish electronics, how to build your own transducers in an older Geotech forum archive.
Not sure if it is still available... but would be worth searching.

But there were no complete instructions either...

I just found the old forum again that I was talking about.
But I could not download the graphics.
Maybe they can still be accessed somewhere.

Stures posts seem to be dated back to 1999 !

There is a LOT to read about sidescans...
