I have been a wreck hunter for a few years now and have used a couple high end side scan sonars... They are great, but very expensive. A couple years ago, I purchased a new product from Tritech... a Starfish sidescan sonar. The quality verses price blows most others out of the water. To make things even better, Starfish have come out with 2 new units... I purchased the highest resolution one.. the 990F and it is almost photo quality! This summer I am heading out to look for a couple plane wrecks that went down in my area a few years ago. Who knows what else might be laying at the bottom. Check out the Starfish at

and read up on the unit... I love mine.

It looks like pwillie is out of here since he has not replied in 2 years. I am also interested in the Starfish sonar since I read that it uses the CHIRPS technology. This sonar can actually see objects BELOW the sand! Does anyone else have experience with this unit?

Did you end up purchasing the Side Scan? If so, How do you like it?
