Hi, I dusted off my old XP Pro and it works except for the sound. It registers accurately on the gauge,  but no sound. No beep, nothing thru the headphones either. Checked my hearing aids and they work fine so pretty sure there is something  wrong with the detector… Any ideas on how I can get the sound working again?

good evening, you have to check the contactor of the chassis jack before going to the internal amplifier of the detector, in the photo you have to check if the tabs 2 and 3 are touching when no headphones are connected, this is the position normal of the chassis jack which activates the internal speaker and it will be necessary either to clean the tabs using a spray or to change the jack of the detector and if nothing changes it will be necessary to check the BF stage of the detector
