Not much good until the shop gets worked on.

Nothing is being shipped out at this time as I know.

  One caveat to Homefire's reply.
  Posts by existing members to the New Users Introduction board and certain other boards, such as FAQ and and the Chit-Chat boards and birthday greetings do NOT earn you gold.   However, posts (whether starting new topics or replying to existing topics) on other boards such as any of the "Finds", "Metal Detecting", "Treasure Hunting", "Research and Techniques", "Tech Talk", etc, etc, etc boards will earn you gold.   Additionally, the moderators have been known to occasionally auction their own gold to raise real money to defray the costs of operating the board.   But as Homie said, until the Shop gets up and running again all you can do with the gold is watch it grow.
