 Waveing

First of all I want to tell everyone that I love this website!! It's fun to see the new finds and read all the great info on treasure hunting and metal detecting. Everyone is so friendly and are willing to give advice and help to us newbies. Thanks guys!

However... Whenever I click on something here one of the things I see loading is FACEBOOK.  No no! Shocked

Why and what is facebook loading/downloading?  Shocked This is disturbing; especially since I recently saw on the news that facebook is spying on us and gathering info about us on any page that has a facebook logo. They are saving that information and sharing it with others.

I tried to find a setting so I could "turn off" facebook, but I don't see anything like that in preferences or settings. Is there a way to stop facebook from gathering info when I'm on your site? Round About

On my facebook page I've turned off everything I can. I've set every setting to as private as I can make it and I don't want facebook or other sites to be able to gather info on what I'm looking at and what I'm doing without asking my permission.  Police

Can anyone enlighten me??

I can understand exactly what you are talking about.  I also keep getting the facebook Icon coming up on everything I am on.  I'd also like to get rid of the Icon and I too would like to know how to do it.

I hope someone comes up with an answer.

Sorry guys not sure what icon y'all mean. If its the one one next to the title of the threads that just incase you wish to share a thread with your face book friends. If its the one on the right site that reads     "Integrate with facebook" not sure what it will do so untill all the work in the back is finished I will wait to ask Christian.
Whenever I click on something here one of the things I see loading is FACEBOOK.

Can you take a screen shot of that please I am not seeing it

I see a bunch of computer speak  with facebook ...on the bar at the bottom of my screen where the "loading" info is. I can't seem to click fast enough to get a screenshot.

That is telling you what is loading Facebook will come up because of the links from here face book and the  "Integrate with Facebook" if you want to use it. If you watch it Minelab and google will also pop up because of their links.

Hello Guys,

no worries about the face book plugin Smiley If you are on face book AND logged in, the forum software will allow you to ...

... share posts on your face book wall
... invite your friends from face book ...
... post to the forum from face book etc.

It's just a bride between the two communities and will only be in place for those who are active on both sites.

If syou consider this feature to be annoying it can also be turned of by me.

Regards,

Christian

Thanks Christian, I would like it turned off, but I don't want to mess up anyone else's fun. Is it possible for each user to turn it off for themselves? Also I'm deleting cookies and making sure I log off facebook/twitter etc before I log in here, I'll feel better even if it doesn't work.
Thanks everyone for your speedy answers.  Kiss  I LOVE this forum!
