I take the post you are not to say hi to the new user? I tried to Seldon's reply but found the reply button gone on the post. So do we say hi or not? I dont understand on the posting thing, maybe other dont also.

@ Casca: Seldom's posting was meant as a general encouragement / call to welcome our new members by replying to their topics. However some new members took it wrong and did reply to Seldom's post (instead of opening a new introduction topic themselves). Hence we locked up Seldom's posting sit is read only noew and people won't reply to it.

Its fine to say Hi on new post but adding a reply to a post that is a year are more old is of little use.
Plus when a new member jumps into a introduction with I am also from XXXXXXX or I am new to etc it takes away from the original posters welcome. All we are asking don't reply to a member that introduces their self on someone else post. Just report it and let someone split it out.
