I agree with Sue, I think it should stay at 15 posts, you will always get people trying to beat the system, but hopefully they will make some sensible post as well and maybe by having to add posts it will get them used to contributing to the forum.
Christian seems to have a good idea by restricting things like humour until after you have your 15 posts, it stops the site being used in a trivial way just to get to the downloads.

Its still a great website, all the best Mike.

Personally, I got on this site because Cornelius was here. I found the 15 post thing nothing but a minor inconvenience and never gave it another thought. On reflection though, if people get on the site and post a lot of drivel so they can get their "15", it might be a good idea to get rid of the requirement.

The thing that really bugs me are the not so cleverly disquised posts "Help me with some money and I'll share with you" variety.
Hmmmm....... noticed a couple today.
Ought to be an instant ban.........

My idea is to combine the amount of post (15 ) with a time limit of one month .    Even when you put 15 good for nothing post on the forum in order to be able to download , you still have to wait one month . Usually people don't want to wait that long to get their desired downloads and forget about the whole thing .    Cornelius

Good idea that Cornelius!
No need for a 15 post limit, just a time limit as you suggest would likely work!

You still need to have the 15 posts, otherwise its a case of 'sign on' and forget for that time period and then download. Probably two weeks would be a better timescale.
The impatient ones try and do their postings all in one go.

Mike.

At first all the trivial posts bothered me a bit, but now I find it amusing on how they put out the one line zingers. So far I think the time limit may be the best way to encourage participation and having control over the special access. Not sure about keeping the post count limit, but leaning toward dropping it. If someone hangs around for a few weeks for access then maybe they are interested enough to join the forum in information exchange.

Christian,
Forget the time limit, forget the post limit. We've got a great site that you've created and spam guys etc. will be ignored as they show up. Keep the free access to everything we all have to offer available to anyone that can take it to another level.

I will pick up Cornelius' idea of having a post count & time combination however this needs to be customed programmed. I will look into it. Also the post count for the Chit Chat boards got disabled.

Regards,

Christian

Hello Everyone !! I was just wondering can members with less than 15 posts read everything ? Or are the attachments/downloads still invisible ?  Shocked

It would be nice to read everything and then at 15 posts or 1 month they have full access !!

Best Regards.......... Great...... Wise.....Eugene52
