What kind of switch is it? Toggle? Slide? You often don't need an exact replacement.

You did get it right. That's an operator's manual and will be no help at all. Call White's or send them an e-mail. They're still in business and have one of the best technical support crews around. If they can't get you a replacement part, come back here and we'll try to work out what it can be replaced with.

I emailed them an a guy emailed back and said"I need to know the value of the item to determine if we still have it." I don't know what he is talking about so I emailed him back with the catalog an haven't heard back since that was the 6th. Do you know what the value is?

Radio shack would most certainly have a replacement part. We do need much more information about it first. Where do you live? It might be easier to ship it to Whte's and let them fix it. If you are in the throes of winter and snowbound, waiting won't be a big deal but if you are missing out on prime time, it could cost you lots of missed fun. Also, you may be nearby to one of us who can help you easier by seeing the machine.

The first number doesn't mean anything to me but the other number might mean it is a 22Kilohm part. Does it also have a click on function or is it just a rotary potentiometer?

He didn't say that it never stopped, Homefire. Just that it turned either way. It is probably a 10 turn pot, like most of them. But hey, we have patience here. Trying to troubleshoot from half a continent away is a challenge. The glove is down!
