Hi

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a THunting computer software programs?

I will develop the software and upload to the site, the software would also incorporate a donate button to help THunting site raise money for site maintenance.

If you think this would benefit the THunting site give your thoughts on ideas.

example: A THunting software that allows you to calculate gold weights, gives live gold prices in ounces & grams and an incorporated live currency converter.

Thats just an example, but if people want that i will develop it for THunting members

Throw around some of your Ideas.

Well mate it seems like a good idea but you need to ask Christian about this really and that is where the problem lies because he has such a full Roster that its hard to get hold of him, But by all means send him a message and see what he says but dont expect an answer right away because of his commitments, weldone

This sounds like a great idea. We've spoken of this in the past but most of us are just so busy that we can't pay it the proper attention.

It would be handy to have a database that is universally transportable between platforms like Windows, Mac Linux, iPads and Androids. The database might also be compatible with GPS API modules from Android or iPad. You get the idea. I recommend MySQL for the basic database. If you can write it in JavaScript then it will be completely transportable.

Being able to inpur the current gold & silver prices would also be handy. I'm sure others will come by with other options and ideas.

This proposal of his has nothing to do with the forum. It would be a program for use on your own machine.

Hi

OK i'll start with this first to see what people think and build on.

I write software for the .Net Framework using Visual Studio. As for a Data Base i use SQL Server.

The software once compiled will run on Windows based machines,  Win xp, 2000, Vista, Win 7, 2008, Win 8.

Hope that suits most people

I'll upload it when done

regards

A good start. The Java engine interfaces well with that. If you give it a try you might find it's easier than you think. JavaScript is 100% portable and can be executed in all machines.

Windows users can't complain for certain with the machine base you chose.

I love this idea.  A while back I asked a question of the forum about an MD journal.  Currently I use a paper journal to document my finds.  It would be great to have a program I can document finds, trips, locations, etc.

Hope I do this right but here is the link to the thread.  It has some great ideas in it.

This is a great thread. Hope to see some good ideas. I'd volunteer to help but last programming I did was some assembly coding for the 6502......  Amen    My father did coding for the Univac....    Grin Wise
Hopefully it will run on Win or Mac.
