Hi everyone

i apologize for not posting a link as yet.

I had some more features to add to the Gold Calc app, I decided to add a proxy server setting to the currency converter - due to the latest new headlines, privacy is every thing.

and I'm designing a new tab, this feature is for gold specific gravity - this is used for when you find encased gold, say gold encased in ironstone or quartz. This allows you to calculate actual gold content weight

I will add some help features to the above items for ease of understanding on using them.

so please be patient, and i will keep you updated.

thanks

Hi everyone

I have finally finished Thunting Gold Calc.

This should install on Windows XP, 2008, 7, 8  with .Net Framework Version 2.0

When you install the software and open the application it will take a short time to initialize.

Let me know what you think - good or bad

Hi everyone

Don't forget the download link is now posted up there, download the software try it and comment, also make a donation if you find it useful.

ok the MD Journal:

I have some time today to start putting some thought into this next up and coming software.

i have taken thoughts from varies people on the forum, they are as follows -

Live2Hunt

Location (property address, park name etc) , Date, Time frame of the hunt, finds, maybe detector settings.
Here is what my vision was for a journal.  An entry began with the date and the time frame of the search
i.e. July 3, 2013,  9:00am to 10:00am.  Then the location of the search using either an address,
cross streets, park name, campground name, gps coords, etc. Maybe even have a map similar to the map
used on this website on the profile pages. I pictured a comments section to type text that won't fit
in a specific category of a find.  Next being able click on a button like (new entry) to enter specific
find information.  The find information would be the things that Xavier entered.   So basically you could
enter all your finds for the trip and have them linked to the initial entry information I originally
entered.  Regarding the specific find data I would add a comments section as well.

GoldDigger1950

Keep your mind open, use a journal. The best use of the journal is to tell you which types of areas are best.

bomber

pics, date, notes, satellite and maps of where you found your treasure.

xavier

GPS coordinates, Photo, time and date, depth and machine used, Location
Settings (Machine), Soil condition (Wet/Dry), Gold/Silver, Weight,Karat 8/14/18/21/24
Same thing with silver 830/875/900/925, you can add soil type ie Wet, Dry, Sandy, Stoney,
Mineralized, Highly Mineralized, Fresh water, Salt Water.

nickel_n

Odometer start/finish Or total km traveled Cost of petrol per litre

ArfieBoy

For the log book you might include a box for recording weather conditions also.
I'm an analog detector guy...  don't much use computerized detectors, and I have notice that
weather conditions seem to affect the performance of my analog detectors.

so far there are alot of good ideas.

This is going to be a database project, so if you have more ideas post them here

ok time to start coding.

A couple of comments so far. It's an august beginning! That's a compliment for those who don't know it.

There doesn't seem to be an obvious way to convert your gold amounts to cash value. I'm sure that's because of purity issues (10k, 18k and etc.) so that will require a complicated process.

When you install a program, the default is normally set to Everyone. The reason for that is because of a flaw in Windows that allows users to be hidden on a network and Net Framework respects that hidden attribute in most applications. It can make the user invisible to your software by accident. If you make it an optional User specific program, they can't blame the software.

My firewall had to be set to allow your program Internet access. If you can do that step in the setup process (the asking part) it will save having to restart it to get it working.

Nice work. I appreciate your efforts.

Thank you very much, alot of time and thought has gone into building and coding the calc. Especially the specific gravity math calculations.

In this instant i had to use backward compatibility settings for earlier operating systems, normally i wouldn't. Thats why i asked people on the forum about their systems in use and went from there.

This came as a surprise when i read this! I developed and tested on Win 7 Ultimate x64, are you using windows firewall or a third party firewall?

This could be future feature that i could incorporate into it!

Thanks for your comments
