Go Up Go Down

I have been having trouble posting to Today's find. I normally use FireFox. After I hit the post button I get a pop up saying.

"To display this page, Firefox must send information that will repeat any action (such as a search or order confirmation) that was performed earlier." A similar pop up happened when I tried posting from Internet Explorer. There is two buttons on the pop up one for resend and the other to cancel.

If I hit resend I get a page that says.

"Website Offline, No Cached Version Available

The website you are trying to access is currently offline. The most likely causes are the server is down for maintenance, there may be a network problem, or the site may be experiencing excessive load.

The site uses CloudFlare in order to help keep it online when the server is down by serving cached copies of pages where they are available. Unfortunately, a cached copy of the page you requested is not available, but you may be able to reach other cached pages on the site.

If you continue to receive this error after you believe the site is back online, you can retry a live version of the site. "

If I chose cancel it says something similar.

This is the only forum I have problems with and it just started since the dos problems. To get back to THunting I have to close firefox and come back. Just a wild guess on my part possible corrupted data base here?

Edit: to add this post went through with no problem possible corrupted data base in the todays finds section?

Yep, tried a little earlier. Like I said it's strange I can post here but not there. I could not do a copy and paste but while it was waiting on the bottom of my browser it said waiting for a long string of numbers and trash then google before it went to the cloudfare page.

BTW I even tried clearing my cache and cookies and came back to try posting there.

Homefire,
Here is my
'Lost my camera about 4 weeks ago, therefore, no photos to post. Got a new camera yesterday and attempted to post however, the website was not working. Today, I attempted without success. Perhaps too many photos (4)?  Will try 2 on each post... This is page 1 of 2. (this is just a sampling of some of the coins). Got permission to search two other fields nearby (5 acres each) and the prospect of yet another field of about 4 acres... Great news.Coloma Gold
Now here's the bad news.
When I hit enter (to submit the post with only 2 phots) the system starts and the icon turns and turns as if it is working but it never completes the operation..hence, it is not taking the submission or the phots. I have no problem with the comments but apparently there is something that will not accept the photos. The photos are from the standard Sony Cybershot DSC H 70 camera (pretty much standard) so I don't know what's wrong....Coloma Gold

You may try to resize them?

I think the limit is 500Kb.

Posted on: December 03, 2011, 01:32:49 AM
Corrected it's 250 Kb.    The larg one I just sent was 230

Homefire,

The photos are averaging 5.35 megabytes. Is that the problem? How do I 'resize' them? thanks, Coloma Gold

Homie, I was posting an image link each time from photobucket. So the difference may be using an image from an outside source . The pictures or links are not the problem though. At least they don't have a problem at two other forums. I just finished posting the two pictures by attaching them in todays finds and it worked.
I also tried posting an image link here, but it did the same thing. I am going to attach a screen capture from the page I get when doing a link this time. After I do that I am going to try a linked image and see what happens.

Okay, just tried using an image link here to the photobucket image and it sent me to the same page. I also pasted the image link in a different tab and had no problem. You can check that by pasting this in a separate tab and removing all the spaces I am putting between the photobucket and the .com. It should turn up the picture I posted above.

Something is happening when the website processes a img link.

Forgot to warn you if you try posting an image link you may have to close out your browser and come back. That's what I have been doing. A simple refresh doesn't work.
