Today I got my new toy in the mail.  It is a Compass Metal Detectors Auto Max Pinpointer!  Works great.  Senses a quarter size coin at about 2" and smaller, to dime size, at about 1 1/2 inches.  Anybody know its history or production period?  How about what it cost new?  Thanks in advance.

Thanks or your comments, guys!

Jimby, I bought it primarily as a collectors item, but I think I'm going to have to take it out at least once and use it very gently just to see how it performs in the field.

Thanks for the information, Homie.  It seems stable.  Fits in my hand nicely, too.

Nickel-n, if I ever decide to get rid of it maybe I'll let you know (if I remember) about it before I put it up in public.  Spread the wealth...  so to speak!
