Yea.. I know... we have a lot of beaches here...You know..what I mean.. I have used the VLF at the parks and did alright... I bought a PI and batteries are suppose to be here today.. I did manage to rig the control on the shaft so that it would be just a little off ballance to disribute the weight... I am looking at land machines.. Eugene has me thinking about tesoro....with all his finds with his compadre... But I am still looking..on e-bay or second hand...

Lets be right about all this . You are looking for a cheap detector , go ahead and by one from these companies you don't know . But .... what are you after ..... a good detector or just a detector . I say stay with the trusted names . They have done their research and improved on their product . But ... if you want something cheap ..... don't complain when it does not work to your satisfaction . I like to do business with the people I know . So it cost a little more !  In the long run I am gaining . I designed some good detectors . Going very deep . But I will be no competition with the existing manufacturers that spend a lot of money designing the best detectors for your money . Just my opinion !   Cornelius

While I appreciate the bit of anonymity a nym can bring, I also miss the good old days when a real name was the best way to keep things sorted.

I got ripped off by Seben a couple of years ago for the seben extreme. The detector they sent was defective and it cost a fortune to send the unit back after 6 weeks another unit arrived which was in worse condition than the first, I got bad memories of those people at Seben. No refund or replacement ... I put a negative feedback into ebay but ebay sided with their powerseller and withdrew the comment. the unit they sell is the Chineese made MD5006 ...  Angry

Like they already said, Chinese insides, assembled in Germany. If it?s got SEBEN on it, STAY CLEAR, except for the pin pointers, they are cheap and cheerful, but do the job (Chinese again).  Cool
