I'm doing coin hunting and more than likely everything above and on ground.  Around all barns, houses, etc.

Hello Metal Inspector,

I think this matter has to be regarded from different perspectives:

Cornelius suggested an excellent PI deep seeker. It is suitable for cache / treasure hunting at great depth but not the 1st choice for coinshooting like in your case.

Salor named what is probably the best machine for underwater hunting.

In your case - coinshooting - the two top of the line machines would be the Minelab eTrac or White's Vision. However they are are also quite costy being in the USD 1400 range.

If you are on a budget - as we all are - then I would recommend the following machines:

- Whites DFX (pre-succssor of the White's Vision)
- Minelab SE (pre-successor of the Minelab eTrac)
- Or a Tesoro Lobo SuperTraq or Tejon

The Tejon is probably the cheapest at around USD 350 - 400 preowned. It has good depth and discrimination. You might want to check it out.

Regards,

Christian

Would agree with Christian, the tesoro's are great machines.
Sounds ideal for what you are looking for.

Yes, I had been looking at the DFX as well as the Minelab detectors.  I just needed a bit of a verification about which to buy for my specific hunting condition.  Thanks for the detectors that suits coinshooting, I'll more than likely go with a budget.  I've got a GTP and bought a new coil for it, and hopefully that will help me a bit.
