I have been looking around the forum and have not seen any posts about JW Fisher metal detectors. I was wondering if anyone has one and if they are any good. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. I saw brief, uninformative mentions of them, but they do not have their own area like Minelab, Whites, etc. do. I have heard that the pros use them and wanted some more info on them as I may want to purchase one to augment my current collection.

I was just wondering how they compare depth wise compared to say a fisher CZ or a Whites Dual Field. The nice thing about the JW Fisher is you can swap coils out to match the situation and targets that you are hunting for. My goal was to buy either a JW fisher with a bunch of coils or the Minelab GPX5000. I was also trying to find out how the new Minelab GPX5000 does on the beach in a separate topic, but nobody will reply to me. Very frustrating...

Thanks for you help, it is very appreciated.

ALL detectors have the same depth capability if they are of the same technology. The depth is NOT a function of the machine. It's a function of the user and his or her skills.

I get pretty good penetration with my 8x, I can't help you with the comparison as I've not used the other brands. A friend of mine uses a minelab Excalibur II and I think mine is a little more sensitive after we did a comparison test but who knows. I'm in the works now of getting a new aqua pulse. Hope this helps you.
