Go Up Go Down

Still kind of sad , I was researching the internet a few days ago after typing "17 Khz Gold Detector" for another completely different reason and stumbled onto a "Red Heat XD" Field Test on an Italian website . At the beginning of the long page it spoke of a Genius small business owner in London England who passed away at only 62 years of age in November 2007 from Pancreatic cancer that spread to his liver . His name was Vic Fiveash with 20 years experience building Metal Detectors that worked better than most machines in the trashiest and worst Iron conditions that exist in London . His machine beat out the "XP Power Goldmaxx" in coin hunting field tests . He made 5 models of Metal Detectors over the years . The Red Heat MKI , MKII, Tornado 3 ,Tornado4 , Red Heat XD17 and the last one he manufactured was the XD17 Micro .
It would be nice to see one of these Detectors implemented into a new Thunting.com Hobby Project.
If anyone has more information on his business experience or designs please post it here .
Regards...........Eugene

Hi Eugene,
I remember seeing a "Red Heat" ("Tornado" I think.... )  in use a few years back.
It was absolutely mind blowing.
They are one of the most sought after machines here.....
I think all the designs and remaining hardware were sold to a Dutch Guy a few years back.

I miss seeing your regular beach finds threads.

I'm sure somebody in England can get in contact with Vics wife and help save the plans and documents and MD'ing stuff, so that it could be used to advance the hobby...maybe one of the guys from or around London can make contact which would be a great thing!

Cheers gents,  Great
Jim

I went to the beach yesterday but on had £13.56p and a US dime . I will start putting on forum when i go next .
My total is now £768 and what pence.

Still wish i kept my XD 17  though but i would have been worrying about it going wrong all the time without Vik about.

His wife June moved out of London a while ago to Wiltshire i think , dont know where.
She sold all his machinery and plans to someone in the Netherlands not long after he passed away.

Hopefully one day that person might bring out a new one, i would be happy for one of the older ones though or one of the new Tornado that he was working on when he got ill.
Never did see what that was like, it was within weeks of release when he died.

Speaking of Tornado, this is the one we should look at again !!  Has anyone heard more information on this "Great Metal Detector" . It had limited production in the U.K. The Designer "engineer" of this fantastic machine passed away several years ago and I do not think anyone continued his legacy.  I wish we can examine this Metal Detector inside and out. It would be a fantastic project and it runs at 19 or 17 Khz , I forgot the exact frequency. Thank-you for any help help or information !!

HH........Eugene

Just a few years ago, and this one was ahead of its time.
17 Khz is the frequency and I found more information, but no schematics yet !!  Cry    Some of our thunting forum members in the UK may know a lot more about the Red Heat Tornado.
