I just Purchased a Compass Magnum 320 for $10. It seems to work, i.e. I get the beeps around metal, however I have no idea how to set the discriminator or what the VLF or TR are for.

Wish I still had my old Compass Coinscanner Pro--that was a good detector and one of my favorite.

I'll give them a try. thanks.
Although I've wanted a metal detector since my younger days I never got around to buying one until I saw this at a thrift store. I got it to beep and figured $10 wouldn't kill me. I'll probably appreciate it more when I find a manual or some other way to figure out the settings etc. Thanks for your reply.
