I just bought an ace 250  and if i were to do it again i would get the AT pro that's if i went with Garrett . Having used the 250 in CANADA  for about 3 weeks i don,t like the picture id  as a lot of our money comes up as iron so i end up digging everything.... also make sure you ask the right questions when buying , but educate yourself on detectors so you know when you are being lied to , i was lied to on the ace 250 ....lesson learned.

In the last 15 months I have bought two detectors on e-bay.  I've had good luck and gotten good detectors.  I may have paid a slightly higher price for them, but they were older ones I really wanted, kind of as working collectibles.  I'm very satisfied with what I got for the money.  I've had good luck and don't feel as though I've been scammed.  But always be on the alert!  Detecting

You learned a valuable lesson their. After being a multiline dealer for 25 yr, I ALWAYS carry with me some coins and pulltabs and screwcaps etc when  looking for a new detector,Your coins are different that our american coins and we find a lot of the mexican peso's and 20 dollar coins here all over. After using EVERY detector brand and 3 pulse types a fella finds out that the I D machines are bunk sometimes.I like whites and Minelab but fell in love with the new TDI pulse from whites and now they have downsized it like an mxt box--great--and it has a full discriminatior on it up to and including screw caps.I've used them all even all of the new fishers and Teks and whites and most Minelabs they all do a good job just some of the ID's on some are not my cup of tea. rwd mo

RR No I havent got the sl model yet gotta sell off some detectors, Been playing with one. The TDI model I had was a good one just a little heavy. they took some things off the SL model guess so they could lower the price.Think the sl is 1299$ and pro was 1799$. us.when in disc. (grn bal) it looses depth some but still has good disc. that in itself amazes me. all any pulse showed me was furous and non furous. that wasn't enough for me.  I've had 3-4 pulses and they got POWER but no disc.I dug a 6ft hole in a cave once from a dowser pinpointing the site and wished at that time that I had had a pulse to check it as my detector went nuts from minerazation in the hole. cost me some digging time and labor.guess we all gotta learn.Been cache hunting for some time (41yr) and some of the things u dig up is overwhelming.A friend found a kgc cache and some money in indian country (oklahoma) tho not much money in it but was a thrill to see it come out of the ground and it was in ground just like the books says how they buried their caches.take care
