Go Up Go Down

My wife bought me a detector about 15years ago.  It is made by Radio Shack and has a "discriminator" mode to it.  Other than the fact that at the time she said I spent too much time  with it, looking for loot was a lot of fun.  However, it just seems to me that this unit has no consistent finding capability.  It drifts and I get a lot of false positives.  This could be my fault (newbie).  It could also be the fact that "you get what you pay for."  I'm inclined to think it's the latter.  This is one reason I am considering "rolling my own."

Detectors changed a lot when they left the analog world. Most all modern machines work pretty well. You could build a machine to suit the type of detecting you do.

The Radio Shack Model Number is 63-3011 and it is branded as the Radio Shack "Discovery 1000."  I'd love to have a schematic for this one, too.
