Hi all,

Newbie here.

I have been reading about several MD and selected 4 of them.

I would like some advice on which one will suit me better.

Teknetics T2

Fisher F75 (which for what I read is pretty much the same as the T2 mentioned above)

Garrett GTI 2500

Garrett AT Pro

I realize these are high end machines, the AT Pro being the cheapest (but still an expensive one).

I will be using it on sand 90% of the time. Mostly on the beach, so waterproof would be good. Will be looking for the usual rings, earrings, necklaces, coins, etc. But I want a MD that can detect at least at 10'' deep.

I understand that higher frequency (15Khz) MD find gold better, so, for a sandy soil, what do you guys recommend?

Do I really need a very high end machine to fulfill all my requirements, or can I settle for the AT Pro?

Any comments or advise will be appreciated.

I believe you should go with the AT Pro, the F75 suffers from E M I issues and the are on about their 6th circut board due to reliability problems, the T2 is just a lesser version of the F75, I have seen all the tests with the AT Pro and it comes up better,

Welcome! I believe you are our first member from Uruguay.

All of those machines are good and you should get whichever you can best afford. I lean toward the Garrett machines on your list but my first high end detector was a Garrett. I have a soft spot for them.

Thanks a lot Ridge and Golddigger.
Yes, I'm from Uruguay, but I travel to the US once a year, so next time I will be buying one of these MD.
We have plenty of shore line over here, with several important shipwrecks. I would like to start this hobby and see what the sands are hiding from me.
I think I will be buying the AGT Pro, probably enough for what I want. Do you guys recommend it for beach usage (sand, salty water)? How do you rate it as a gold spotter?
Does anyone knows if I can get a friend to buy it for me and have him send it to me by Fedex as "tools"?   Cheesy
Too many questions, I know. Thanks in advance!

It's very adaptable to gold by adjustments you can make so don't worry about that. As to shipping it, be patient and carry it back with you. To that end, use KellyCo and get the best deal you can, maybe even a second detector free as a backup. They have some nice underwater machines for the allowable choices for the second machine.

Where will you be visiting in the US when you come here?

Hi Golddigger!

Thanks a lot for your advise.

I was thinking of buying it from Amazon, but will check KellyCo for sure!, sounds good.

I normally visit the South Florida area.

Cheers!

Hi  xsarelo

Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately I can't help you in your decision but what I can tell you is that you have some of the best help you could get. From what I've heard the AT Pro is a great machine and it looks like the experts agree.

Have a good one
Xavier
