It is a Fact that higher Freq Machines are hotter on Gold Due to the Conductance of Gold.

That's not true based on any electronic analysis that I know of. The size of the object, yes. The conductance, no. The magnetic permeability, yes. There are other factors that have a far greater bearing on the ability to detect gold than the frequency. I'm sure you read it somewhere and believed it but repeating something that is not true does nothing towards advising someone.

Anyone reading this, take note. Discrimination is your enemy when prospecting for gold. An all metal machine or one that has an all metal mode will yield gold. The reason people go with the high end machines for gold like the Minelab machines is that they do not like digging the other stuff they find at gold bearing sites. You go to an old working mine and you find tons of rusty metal. Probably 50 to 100 pieces of rusty metal before you find a single tiny nugget. The Minelab machines will punch through the metal. But I'll say something about that now as well. I've gone behind someone on my own claim in California using an all metal machine behind their Minelab and found gold they could not even detect. We tried it repeatedly and he could not find a 35gm nugget that blew my ears off.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

As a gold hunter , Trust me 15 Khz and up will find more then a 6Khz machine.

A 70 Khz machine will find even smaller gold.

You all have your own power as to what you will buy.

You have to powers of the Horizoal, You have the Powers of the Virtical.    I just Know What works for me.

Hi GoldDigger1950
What detector were you using when you came behind the Minelab and found gold it couldn't?

I believe that should be µS not ms. ms is millisecond.  TIP: if you want to use the "µ" symbol in your text hold down the Alt key and enter 0181, then release the Alt key.

In the PI world you need a machine that can see 10ms samples or less.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.
