 :)wish i could see a photo of the underside of the lid of a compass yukon 99b,where the  battery power supply is connected to.because it has no bat packs  inside ,also the wires are missing :(any help would be much appreciated here in land of australia Detecting

gday golddigger in perth .its quite cool hear in adelaide.hows it there?any ideas on powering 99b?ive tried 9v -to earth,and+to empty terminal that looks like its had a wire but pulled off .and got a batt test light on batt 9b.9a position no light however theres another spare terminal.on connectin 6v too that,still no light Sad

Sorry, Jason, no. I don't have one of them but sometimes a good technician can figure out what the battery configuration would be and where to attach it. The reason I asked where you were is that I hoped you were in Perth because I'd offer to have a look at it.

As you know, Compass is out of business now so writing to them would be fruitless. However, the US Patent office has patents by them and perhaps you can find a schematic there that might give you a hint. Look all over the box and inside to see if there is a patent number as a reference. If you find one you can search for it here:
