Go Up Go Down

Darn usps priority mail took over a week to arrive. But it finally got here, took it out in the yard for a few minutes last night and found a pair of scissors, an old harness buckle and a 1958 wheat, in an area I went over with the lone star several times. So far I am impressed, pinpoint is awesome and the depth reading is helpful. Now I just have to learn what its trying to tell me.

Congrats on the fancy machine!   Lots of bells and whistles on that MD eh Smiley  Looking at your scissors, they almost look like a locking clamp.

they are locked up for sure... with 50 years of rust. I thought I was digging out an old pocket knife as I found the tips first, but then they kept going.

@ homefire I was watching the tid and it was all over the place on the scissors bouncing from the 60s all the way into the 90s but the tone sounded good. the penny came in at a solid 83 from every side. I cant wait to hunt somewhere with less trash and nails and see what this baby can do on coins.

I got an invite to hunt the grounds of an old boarding house and barn, hope to hit it this weekend and find my first silver. All the stuff I found on the omega says the best mode to hunt in is the d2 which gives low tones for iron medium to high tones for everything else and varies the volume based on signal strength. Anybody on here super familiar with the omega? What are your favorite settings?

@ccsportsdad, I couldnt pass up the deal, I was going to go for the delta then I found this barely used omega with the dd for 430, I figured the extra bucks was well spent on something I could grow into and I shouldnt need an upgrade for a while.

I cant wait for it either, should be some good stuff in the ground around there. The owner said there was a rumor way back when about some stolen gold bars cached there....although I doubt its true it sure would make my day.

Homefire, I think I will be digging everything for some time until I get figured out what all its trying to tell me. I had several nails and an axe wedge I dug last night come in in the higher tones, I guess because they were so heavily rusted into the soil? Oh well gotta spend some hours swinging so I can understand its language.
