I have a new Teknetics T2 for sale, never used, I bought back in late FEB from a distirbutor.  I went to sell it (it's listed on ebay).  Teknetics/First Texas  sent me an e-mail.

They do NOT transfer their warranties!

That Sux!  I've discounted the machine so low, it's rediculous!

I imagine any First Texas Metal detectors brand doesn't transfer either.  (Bounty Hunters Brand)

On ebay you can buy a warranty at least.  I don't know of another machine that won't transfer.

Not that I'd ever wanna sell my Gold Bug Pro, but yes First Texas only honors the warranty to the original owner. I'm currently thinking of getting a Gold Bug 2 and was reading thru the manual; its the same thing....warranty only good for the original owner. It's a pity, but such is the policy of that corporation.

If I'm not mistaken, Tesoro's famous lifetime warranty is also not transferable. Garrett's warranty can be passed along to subsequent owners though. Hope your T2 sale goes smoothly.

None do, that I know of. Even most appliance warranties don't transfer. Car warranties are fixed into the price, so don't kid yourself into thinking that they're "free" or that you don't pay for them. Want bumper to bumper 100% coverage? That will cost you a bundle.

If it's not broken, there should be no trouble selling it. Good luck.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Garrett & Minelab do from memory -

Considering the current lot of leaky 11"DD coils both Fisher/Teknetics owners are experiencing, I would hate to get caught out with secondhand new detector with a dodgy coil -

You can bet bottom dollar First Texas will tell you to bin it & buy another one

 Detecting
Thanks for the heads up about Garrett transferring the warranty.
I have a brand new Ace 250 that is too heavy for me since I broke my wrist a couple of years ago and was thinking of selling.
