is there a way that it could be read into an OCR that would make it easier to read?

Wyatt;

This may seem a strange question, but the horse/mule shoe.... does it point up or down?
when used as as sign, or at the (mine?) treasure location.

After you answer my question, if there is a known answer, I will tell why I ask.

The bottom is the open part of the door symbol or iron shoe when they are huge on the side of a mountain.

The round part is facing up.

But when they are found small made in the cracks of rock near the final gold mine site they can be up or down, flat or vertical, you simply follow the longer tip of the shoe.

Wyatt;

That makes perfet sense. I asked because family tradition says never hang the shoe (mule, horse or ox) upside down, because it allows the 'luck' to drain out, but if it is a carved symbol, its a whole new ball of wax.
