Templars in Canada ?

True Templars were long extinct before Canada was even discovered. However many of their customs were allegedly later adopted by the Scottish and French Freemasons.
Where abouts in Canada are you?
There are some amazing stories of pirate activities and treasure around Newfoundland to search for. And some hidden treasures from the wars of the 17th and 18th centuries around the great lakes.

I am from St.Marys Ontario, s.w. part of province.
I have always been interested in the Templars and read that they had maps of North America
and possibly hid treasure here in Canada.
By the way I am a Freemason and belong to St.James Lodge #73 A.F.A.M.

Canada was settled Scottish and French setters throughout its history. Many of them would of been Free masons from their respective branches. And of course brought with them the legends and lore of their origins connecting themselves to Templar origins.
Perhaps the only site I can think of that might have some distant connection is perhaps Oak Island where one theory suggested the the French engineers could of buried treasure there when the town and fort Fredricksburg was threatened by the British. The officer class and the clergy would of been undoubtedly Freemasons. It is perhaps of these connections that Templar connections have been associated with Canada.

This is the subject of my research, The Knights Templar in New France: Destination Montreal and Lake Memphremagog, which was recently published in the Journal: Journal of the New England Antiquities Research Association, vol. 40, No2, 2006. 40, No.2, 2006. It is dedicated to the late Jacques Boisvert, my friends who invited me to share his passion for Lake Memphremagog and introduced me to his secrets.
Over twenty years of research provided me with the undeniable evidence that the Knights Templar have colonized the territory of New France long before Champlain's time that we celebrate next year the 400th anniversary of the founding of the city Quebec.
The Templars were a secret society that has carefully hidden her past through symbols, allegories and cryptic messages, but have also left their card via their remarkable cross red paste, composed of four parts divided into two ends . We had eight points, a figure of great significance for them.
In many maps of historical geography of Quebec and New England, indicates that cross at various locations, their presence confirmed by ancient archeology. In the Province, are found in Havre St-Pierre, Quebec City, Trois Rivieres and Montreal. Reading relations explorers, archival research and review of old buildings led me to conclude that a significant past presence of the Templars at these locations. In particular, I found the cross on red paste of historical maps of Old Montreal. If the Templars settled in Montreal, they left their mark elsewhere in Quebec? Yes, and it is an old map that I found. First written in French, but reused by British soldiers in 1780, she revealed another dimension of the history of the Montreal area and the Eastern Townships Eastern Townships in Lake Memphremagog.
Indeed, working as a detective with a magnifying glass, I came to discover that the card Tingling, named after the British officer in charge, was created well before the era of French and British regimes. What initially piqued my curiosity was to see Lake Champlain Lake Memphremagog gathered at a river called the River Moeller (who is now the river Lamoille in Vermont). It may sound like a big mistake, but I thoroughly verified the authenticity of the geomorphological map.
In addition, there are little allegorical names for places that still exist, but whose names have long since disappeared. There are also rivers marked sinuosities traced all along their course, a geographical focus related to the winter solstice, a town dedicated to the rose and a coded letter associated with the number five. The winter solstice, the rose, the number five, the Pentagon and Venus were part of the symbolism and spirituality of the Templars perpetuated today by the Freemasson.
Finally, over the years, several archaeological discoveries in the region of Lake Memphremagog support the hypothesis of an ancient presence of the Knights Templar in the region.
I am currently writing a book on the subject, but in the meantime, interested readers can obtain a copy with illustrations from the publication of eleven pages, knights Templar in The New France: Destination Montreal and Lake Memphremagog in sending $ 5 to Gerard Leduc, 6 Chemin de l'Equinoxe, Mansonville, QC JOE IXO. Several people have asked me if I was actually a Freemason because I like avatar, two knights on horseback. He did nothing, I'm just a simple history buff and in particular on the basis of Christianity and the Knights Templar.
